My Stop Motion Animations

  


For this task we had to do a short stop motion animation film. We also had to add Jan Svankmajer style to it. This meant we had to use surrealism in our own style to give it this effect. We also like Jan used bits of moving image with some parts. I think this task went well for the time we was given and I feel that we have portrayed surrealism in our own way giving us a better idea of what is part and essential in Jans work and what makes it so unique.

In this task we had to create another short stop motion animation film. Our storyline is a squares chocolate bar getting eaten by an invincible man. This task was good as we learnt from it that is we do too any frames per second it could drag on. This is what ended up happening with some of this short film. But when it unwraps itself it is much smoother. We would of also of liked to add things moving in the background. As we was time restricted we didn't have much time to work on the soundtrack. I think if we did it again we would of made a lot better by adding in a better soundtrack as bits were missing. 

For both of these short films we made we used the same principle of stop motion animation. For the surreal work we did it was mainly inspired by Jan Svankmajer as he himself uses lots of props and weird things that dont make sense together. These two tasks were very helpful for us to get an idea of time, set designs and props.
